Calif. Votes YES on Historic Animal Proposition!

Change has come to America....and to 20 million farm animals in California.
This week the United States of America had the honor to vote for President, propositions, questions, measures, etc.
The nation made history by voting in Barack Obama.
California made history by voting YES on Proposition 2 -- which will require that three different types of farm animals be kept in cages/pens large enough for the animal to stand up, turn around, spread her wings.
The three animals that benefit from this measure are: veal calves, gestation pigs, and egg-laying hens. Presently California houses 20 millions hens in factory farms....kept in such small cages that they cannot spread their wings. It is inhumane, cruel, unhealthy and unsafe for these animals to be housed this way.
California voters overwhelmingly said "give them space" by a vote of 63%-37%. Ahhhhhh, I can hear the collective sigh of relief for the animals.
Farmed animals in California will be given these basic necessities by 2015, but we have begun to spread the word about how our nation's food animals are treated.
And perhaps by the year 2015 you or your friends/family may have decided to GO VEGETARIAN ....which will truly make a difference for farm animals (and the environment).
